Containment lines and fencing damage during firefighting
-
-
If containment lines were graded or bulldozed on your property for the purposes of firefighting, you are likely to be eligible for having them stabilised (or 'smudged') back into place. Information and application forms are here on the Forest Fire Management (FFMVic) Recovery After An Emergency webpage.
-
You can also download the form directly here, either print it out and complete it, scan it and submit to the email on the form. OR complete a digital version with PDF markup and submit to emergency.recovery@deeca.vic.gov.au
-
An assessor will then be in contact to discuss eligibility and to arrange on-site inspection.
-
This doesn't include re-seeding.
-
NOTE: you have to apply to access this - a team will then visit you to confirm the damage and details. Once the application is approved, a contractor will visit to cost the works. They are in Gooram now so it's a good time to apply and be assessed.
-
This application form also includes repair or rebuild of fencing that has been cut or damaged to provide access to emergency services for the purposes of firefighting.
